Transporte activo como caminada o bicicleta ha sido asociado con una salud más favorable. Sin embrago, la evidencia en transporte activo en Latinoamérica es escasa. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este estudio fue cuantificar y describir las características sociodemográficas del transporte público, privado y activo en países de Latino América.
The United States Food and Drug Administration has updated the Daily Values for the Nutrition Facts Label on packaged foods. The researchers used the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2009–2012 data with the International Life Sciences Institute, North America Fortification Database, to model the new Daily Values potential impact on the intake of adults over 19 years of age.
El propósito de esta investigación fue determinar los niveles de actividad física observada en los recreos escolares según el sexo, el tipo de ciclo escolar y la modalidad de horario en seis escuelas públicas de la provincia de Heredia. Este estudio descriptivo de corte transversal utilizó el Sistema de Observación del Juego y Tiempo Libre (SOPLAY) en una muestra de 1098 escolares.
Different levels of physical activity were observed during recess among students at six public schools in the Costa Rican province of Heredia and recorded according to sex, school semester and schedule. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted using the System for Observing Play and Leisure Activities (SOPLAY) in a sample group of 1098 schoolchildren. A descriptive and a non-parametric analysis of U-Mann Whitney was also used to compare two independent samples according to sex, school semester and schedule with a statistical criterion of p <0.05.

Active travel such as walking or cycling has been associated with more favorable health outcomes. However, evidence on patterns of transportation in Latin America is scarce. Therefore, the aim of this study was to quantify and characterice socio-demographic patterns of public, private and active travel in Latin American countries.
